  • The Tawny Frogmouth is related to the Owl
  • Tawnies are nocturnal hunters
  • They prey mainly on ground dwelling invertebrates such as insects and spiders, but will also hunt mice
  • During the day, Tawnies camouflage so well that they are nearly invisible in tree branches when they have their eyes closed and their head up
  • Tawny Frogmouths are quite common in the forest and open woodland across the whole of the continent
